PIE FOR BREAKFAST

After sleeping in ~~ I had a nice big slice of apple pie with a dab of butter for breakfast.
<br>
I'm not alone ~~ I was reading some of my favorite blog friends this morning, I see several of you enjoyed pie for breakfast. Apple, pumpkin, pecan...and like Betsy on "My Five Men" we will have what I call Pilgrim sandwiches for lunch. Left over turkey, dressing and cranberry sauce on some yummy bread!

No shopping for me today....I love to kick back the day after Thanksgiving, and enjoy the leftovers. Also since I did my Christmas decorating early, I can enjoy that too with the Christmas CD playing in the background.

What's your plans today?

GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD

Psalms 100
"Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
Worship the Lord with gladness;
Come before him with joyful song.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
And enter his courts with praise;
Give thanks to him and praise his name
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever,
His faithfulness continues through all generations."

Wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving, and many blessings from our Heavenly Father.

~LET THE BAKING BEGIN ~

Wednesday is my baking day for Thanksgiving. Two pumpkin pies, one apple, a blueberry cream cheese pie, a pan of brownies and I'm thinking a banana bread!

I bought a bag of ripe bananas and they look pretty close to being ready for several loaves of banana bread.

Yesterday I baked the cookies ~~ Chocolate chip, and Oatmeal. So I'm signing off, putting on my apron, and heading to the kitchen........I'll catch you later when the baking is done.

TUESDAY TIDBITS

I had my camera ready as we drove from Tyler to Dallas. I loved the space, the miles of green and the sky. It was lovely.

Another postcard perfect picture. There is something very peaceful in a scene like this.

Do you like egg custard? Simple to make, easy to digest, and downright tasty! I decided to make a small pie, and put the rest in custard cups. With a dab of whipped cream ~~ delicious.

Since I have my Christmas decorations up, I thought I'd share a couple of my Nativity Sets. This one is my "Willow Tree" and if you enlarge the picture you can see that I've added some of my "Willow Tree" women to the scene.

This is my first and favorite of all my collection of Nativity Scenes. The stable is a wine box, the floor the figures are on is the lid. When put away the two boards that make the stable roof they are a cover for the figures that are packed in the box and then the lid. All finished a box ~~ easy to store for next year. (four small nails hold the roof in place.) A friend who worked at Gallo Winery in Northern CA made it for me years ago. His wife made the plaster figures. One of my special Christmas treasures.

MONDAY SHOW AND TELL

The boys spent Saturday with us and I told them if they wanted to rake the leaves into a pile they could they could run and jump and scatter them since I didn't need them bagged as the landscapers would be coming next week to do that.

Little did I know I had a couple of artists designing leaves in the back yard. They called me to tell me they had created a "Bulls Eye" target!! Nice job boys.

There next piece of leaf art was a "Happy Face!"

In case you can't figure this one out..... it's a "Slug." See it?

They put a shell on the slug, and now we have a "Snail." See when kids aren't sitting in front of a TV or Computer, they can be quite creative!

When was the last time you jumped into a pile of leaves?

MY PRAYER JOURNAL

March 8, 2009 ~ Sunday
"It's evening Lord, day light savings time, longer nights. I like that. It was a great Sunday, blue skies. Pastor Jon preached a wonderful message on Jairus's daughter. He said he was thinking of me while he was preparing the message.

I'm writing this in bed so this is messy, but you know the words on my tongue before one of them is spoken.....

Tomorrow I will know which miracle you are going to give me. The miracle of healing or the miracle of grace. Either one is OK with me because I know it comes from my Father's hand and for my good.

Lord Jesus, if it's the miracle of grace ~~ please be with Don and the children. May they feel your strong arms around them. I loving you so tonight. Amen."

A LITTLE THANKSGIVING HUMOR

How is your Thanksgiving planning and shopping going? A friend sent these to me today, and I got a chuckle, so wanted to pass them along for your Thanksgiving humor.

I jumped the gun today, and put up my Christmas Decorations. It's the first time in my life I have decorated for Christmas before Thanksgiving. But there is a GOOD reason. Next week will be very busy as I am in charge of baking the turkey, making the dressing and pies. Then December 2nd we leave for Las Vegas with our son for "Cowboy Christmas Fair" with a load of Rubber Band Guns for the Craft's Fair. We went last year, and it was a great experience. BUT that's two weeks out of December that I can't decorate. So now when we get back, the house will look warm and festive with all my Nativity Scene in place.

With that I will wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy Thanksgiving!
